প্রশিক্ষিত মহাকাশচারীরা যেভাবে তাঁদের প্রতিকূল পরিস্থিতি মোকাবেলা করেছেন তা প্রমাণ করে চাপপূর্ণ পরিস্থিতিকে, শান্ত ও সংযত থেকেই কী ভাবে মোকাবেলা করতে হয়, শুধু তাই নয়, বরং প্রমাণিত হয় তাঁদের মধ্যে অধিকতর চাপ সহ্য করার জন্য প্রশিক্ষিত হওয়ার সম্ভাবনাও রয়েছে।

মহাকাশচারীদের মূলত মানসিক ও শারীরিকভাবে সুস্থ থাকার জন্য প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া হয়েছিল। তাঁরা ব্যায়াম করতেন এবং পড়াশোনা ও গবেষণার মাধ্যমে তাঁদের মস্তিষ্ক ও মনকে সক্রিয় রাখতেন। এটাও মনে রাখা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ যে পৃথিবীর মানুষের সাথে, কেবল নাসার বিজ্ঞানী এবং মনোবিজ্ঞানীদের সাথেই নয়, তাঁদের প্রিয়জনদের সাথেও, অবিরাম যোগাযোগ ছিল।

তাঁরা ভয়কে জয় করেছিলেন। এটাই মর্ত্যবাসীর কাছে প্রকৃত শিক্ষা। প্রতিদিন গণমাধ্যমের মাধ্যমে যে নিয়মিত নেতিবাচক খবর সরবরাহ করা হচ্ছিল, তার মধ্যে এই মহাকাশ ভ্রমণ মানুষের অন্বেষণের অসীম সম্ভাবনার দিক ইঙ্গিত করল। একই সঙ্গে প্রমাণ করল, প্রকৃতপক্ষে, আকাশই সীমা!

ভারতীয় ক্ষেত্রেও গত কয়েক বছরে ভারত সরকার তথা ভারতীয় মহাকাশ গবেষণা সংস্থা ইসরো  বেসরকারী উদ্যোগ এবং প্রযুক্তি সংস্থার সঙ্গে হাত মিলিয়েছে মহাকাশ বিজ্ঞানের অগ্রগতির জন্য। প্রতিষ্ঠিত বেসরকারি প্রযুক্তি ও বিজ্ঞান সংস্থা ছাড়াও প্রায় ২৫০ টি স্টার্ট-আপ সংস্থা ইসরোকে সাহায্য করার জন্য এগিয়ে এসেছে। এই সংস্থাগুলি অত্যন্ত দক্ষ, উজ্জ্বল এবং প্রতিষ্ঠিত ব্যক্তির দ্বারা পরিচালিত।

First of all, Kudos to the resilience of the human spirit, professionalism and dedicated patience of everybody involved in this rescue mission.The untrained would potentially develop different psychological disorders because the environment was so alien to what humans otherwise are accustomed to.

The way the trained astronauts dealt with their situation highlights not just personalities that can deal with utterly stressful situation, calmly or with composure, but also that the mind has the potential to be trained to endure extreme stress. 

The astronauts were essentially trained to keep themselves mentally and physically fit. They exercised and they kept their brains and minds active through reading and research. It's also important to note that they were not left unattended. There was constant communication with people down on Earth, not just NASA scientists and psychologists but also their loved ones.

 They did not allow fear to set in. That's the lesson to learn. Among the volley of routine negativity supplied by the media everyday, this space odyssey points to infinite potential of human exploration. The sky is the limit, indeed!
