Poem on Russo-Ukraine war

 US President Joe Biden made an unannounced visit to Ukraine Monday, February 20, to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky, a gesture of solidarity that comes days before the one-year anniversary of Russia's invasion of the country. I saw his speech in the BBC world News

"One year later, Kyiv stands," Biden said. "And Ukraine stands. Democracy stands. The Americans stand with you, and the world stands with you." Biden spent more than five hours in the Ukrainian capital, consulting with Zelensky on next steps, honoring the country’s fallen soldiers and meeting with US embassy staff in the war-torn country.

 Russo-Ukraine war

The connected events in the form of a verse

The first world war happened;

The league of Nations was created hurriedly.

Powerful Nations agreed on several treaties,

To ensure lasting peace.

And the world breathed a sigh of relief;

          Alas! The organization failed miserably.

The longer the Russo-Ukraine war goes on,

the further the hope of peace is pushed away.

The war is not just

making two warring Nations bleed

It's the sole purpose of misadventurism

                        of US-led NATO indeed.

And the high hope of post-covid boom,

have given way to terrible gloom.

Inflation grew exponentially,

The scale of poverty is set to rise phenomenally.

War and destruction

are not new phenomenon

to our civilization

Time and again, we promise ourselves,

We'll not embark on wars again

but soon we seem to forget

and get embroiled in them.

often, I wonder what'll happen to our leaders

who flaunt their strength and arrogance and

unleash acts of hegemony,

rather than ensuring for humanity

To live with peace and harmony.

For humanity To live without agony.
