Fait accompli for state ruling party

West Bengal bye-poll results is an instance of 'fait accompli' for the State ruling party

-------

West Bengal Assembly bye-poll results, 7/7 shows the strength of only woman chief minister of the country. Mamata Banerjee has shown a spectacular performance and it is indeed an act of sweet revenge on the Central ruling party, which went all out in the recent Assembly polls to dislodge her govt. Three and a half months before the main election had started in 8 phases,  the honourable PM visited West Bengal 17 times and the honourable Home Minister came umpteen number of times holding 67 rallies including so called Road shows. All India party president also paid visits a number of times to influence the local people. But they couldn't make them budge.

More important is that it was an instance of extreme political excess inflicted in West Bengal trying to push the ruling party at the edge of political starvation, using entire state machinery as far as possible. The local BJP leaders should take lessons from this debacle. They are in complete disarray after this defeat. In fact there's hardly any face of leadership in the local BJP party. The blame game between leaders are in the process.
